
Etihad Concludes Training and Leaves for Malaysia on Friday to Participate in the AFC Champions League
Etihad team concluded their technical and physical training at Al Salt Field on Wednesday morning, before leaving for the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Friday to participate in the qualifying rounds for the second edition of the Asian Champions League

The list of players traveling to Malaysia includes 14 local players: Shereen Al Shalabi, Malak Shannak, Sajida Issa, Lana Faras, Lina Al Saheb, Al Anoud Ghazi, Tuqa Ghazi, Zeina Hazem, Inas Al Jamaeen, Rozbahan Freij, May Suweilm, Kinda Al Titi, Yasmin Al Ajrab, and Janna Matouq.
The team also includes six foreign players: Lydia Kramba, Neomi Anima, Takia Zakaria, and Eugenia Tetteh from Ghana, along with Preeti Rai from Nepal and Cidalia Cuta from Mozambique.
Etihad will begin its journey in the continental championship qualifiers with a match against Lion City Sailors on the 25th of this month, before facing Sdyushour on the 28th of the same month, and finally meeting Kelana United on the 31st of the same month. All matches will be held at Hang Jebat Stadium.



The team finished training under Dutch coach Marie Willemsen, who came to the Al Salt field almost every morning. The field has natural grass, and training focused on the technical plans the team will use in the continental tournament, with the goal of qualifying and moving on to the group stage.
Etihad is in the group that will be held from August 23 to 31, alongside Kelana United of Malaysia, Lion City Sailors of Singapore and Sdyushour of Kyrgyzstan, with only the top team qualifying for the group stage of the continental competition.
This is Etihad's second consecutive participation in the Champions League qualifiers, as last season's professional league champions, after their first participation in 2024, when the group stage was held at Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa Governorate.
