Etihad's technical director, Tareq Al Mahsiri, started the match relying mainly on Fakhri Yamen, Ahed Shhadat, Safi Shahwan, Hamza Ghbeish, Saif Al Din Khalifa, Qais Al Tawalba, Ahmed Al Batoush, Qais Al Shawashra, Mohammed Adous, Ahmed Al Huwaiti, and Mohammed Shadha.
Despite Etihad's attempts to take the lead in the first half, those chances did not result in goals, and the first half ended in a goalless draw, before Ahmed Al Huwaiti broke the code just two minutes into the second half.
Al Mahsiri then brought on Ryan Al Qadi and Mohammed Borghol to strengthen the result, before adding Karim Al Rashq, Ali Maher, and Mohammed Al Far to the lineup. Etihad scored their second goal in the 80th minute through Hamza Ghbeish, The team finished the match with one player down after Mohammed Shahda received a red card, and the opponent scored their only goal in the final minutes.
Etihad raised its points to seven and moved into third place, after drawing 1-1 with Al Jazira in the first round and beating Al Faisaly 3-1 in the second round. It will face its opponent Amman FC in the fourth round next Tuesday, the 30th of this month, at 5:00 p.m. at the Shabab Al Hussein Stadium.
