Etihad Advances to the Semifinals of WAFF Women Club Championship
Etihad defeated Banaat FC 3–2 in the group stage of the West Asian Women’s Club Championship in a match held Saturday evening at Prince Mohammad Stadium

The match was incredibly exciting, featuring numerous attacks and several lead changes. The opponent opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the match with a penalty kick. Etihad never stopped trying to equalize with a series of tactical attacks until Tuqa Ghazi tied the game by finishing off a shot by Rouzbahan Freij from a direct free kick. Etihad doubled their lead with a penalty kick scored by Lana Feras in the final minute of the first half, ending the half with Etihad in the lead.
In the second half, Etihad continued to press in search of another goal, but Banaat FC managed to equalize, bringing the score to 2–2 amid relentless attempts by both teams to score the winning goal. The score remained tied until the 90th minute, when the referee awarded Etihad a penalty kick. Lana Feras successfully converted it into a goal, securing the victory for her team and ending the match with a 3-2 win for Etihad.
Etihad will face Al Nasr on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. at Prince Mohammad Stadium.
