The match got off to a thrilling start, with plenty of chances and excitement from the opening whistle. The first half saw several dangerous chances for Etihad, most notably a shot by Mai Suweilm that hit the crossbar, and the half ended in a scoreless draw.
As the second half kicked off, Etihad’s true threat became apparent, as the team managed to open the scoring 10 minutes in through American forward Carrie Lee Consolino, who dribbled past the Amman FC goalkeeper to put the ball in the net. Amman managed to equalize, but Etihad regained the lead after several attempts with an own goal resulting from a corner kick taken by Zeina Hazem. Just a few minutes later, Amman FC equalized once again, and the match continued with high drama and back-and-forth action until the very last moments. In the final minute of the match, Inas Al-Jamaeen scored the winning goal for Etihad off a superb cross from Carrie Lee, securing the team all three points.
Etihad’s Carrie Lee Consolino was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Etihad will face Future Nashama in their next match on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at JFA 1 Stadium.
