⁨ Etihad Wins the Women's Professional League Title for the Third Time in its History

Etihad defeated Amman FC 3-0 in Saturday evening's match at JFA Stadium (Polo 1) in the 14th round of the championship, winning the Women's Professional League title for the third consecutive time

The technical director of the Union team, Mary Willemsen, fielded Shirin Al Shalabi, Yasmin Al-Silawi, Tuqi Ghazi, Takia Zakaria, Al Anoud Ghazi, Zeina Hazem, Inas Al Jamaeen, Preeti Rai, May Swelim, Rouzbahan Freij, and Eugenia Tetteh.
Etihad started the first half with high pressure in an effort to take the lead and take a big step towards the title. The team took the lead in the 11th minute when Swelim fired a powerful shot from inside the penalty area that was parried by the opposing goalkeeper, before Eugenia Tetteh followed up with a first-time finish into the net.

Etihad doubled their lead in the 55th minute when current league top scorer May Swelim received a superb pass from Inas Al Jamaeen inside the penalty area and fired a powerful right-footed shot that hit the right post before going in, scoring her 14th goal of the season.
Willemsen then brought on Neomi Anima, Lina Al Saheb, and Leen Al Btoush, and Etihad scored their third goal through Swelim in the 78th minute. Swelim was named the best player of the match by the technical committee of the Football Association.
Etihad consolidated its lead with 29 points, eight points ahead of its closest rivals, before taking a break in the 15th and final round, ahead of being crowned league champions on Monday, 26th of this month.
